			<title>Rolling session at the PSU Natatorium</title>

			<description>
				In collaboration with Mach1, the CCofCC is holding Rolling Sessions at the PSU Natatorium again this winter!

How much? The cost is $10 per session attended to offset pool rental fees, and an additional $5 for liability insurance through ACA-PAC. (If already an ACA member, the cost per session is just $10.) If you plan to attend multiple pool sessions, you may want to either join the ACA ($30/person or $40/family if you are a current CCofCC member), or purchase a one-time introductory ACA membership ($15) which lasts for 6 months. As an ACA member, you do not need to pay $5/session for the ACA insurance. Everyone is required to register on arrival, including instructors. Non-CCofCC-members are welcome, but they are not eligible for the discounted ACA membership.

What should I bring? Using your own boat is preferable, but for the sake of pool filters, the boats must be free of dirt and sand. There is a hose for washing off boats just inside the Natatorium side door. It would be appreciated if members owning boats suitable for rolling would be willing to loan them to those members who only have rec boats. Please let us know if you would be able to bring yours to use as loaners. It is likely that we will have boats on hand at the Natatorium, so you may want to come and see what is available that day and then decide if you want to join the session. Lastly, Ed at Tussey Mountain Outfitters has agreed to loan boats to CCofCC members, but I recommend you contact him right away if you plan to borrow one of his.

Wear swimsuits or appropriate paddling clothes; you will get wet. Nose-plugs are recommended, and if you have one, bring a water-proof camera.

If there is enough interest, additional dates in March may be included.

Sessions will be held on the following dates:

            Jan.  22

            Jan.  29

            Feb. 12

            Feb. 19

Each session has the following schedule:

3:00   p.m.
Pool is available to clean boats and set up

3:30 – 5:30 pm
Open for rolling

If possible, please sign up ahead of time for the desired session(s) and hour(s) of attendance by emailing Joyce Furfaro at: jfurfaro@gmailcom.

Coaches/Instructors are needed. If you would like to volunteer, please let Joyce know the session date(s) you are available to assist. Coaches and instructors do not have to pay the use fee unless spending part of the time in a boat.

**Parking is prohibited at the Natatorium without a proper parking pass. Please drop off your boat, then move your vehicle to another parking area.
				This event is currently scheduled to be held at Penn State Natatorium, State College, PA 16801 on February 12, 2012.

			<title>General Members Meeting Meeting</title>
			<link>http://www.ccofcc.org/?vid=1000&amp;ev=210</link>
			<georss:point>40.7933949 -77.8600012</georss:point>
			<description>
				Please join us for a general members meeting of the Canoe Club of Centre County. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. with reports from the club officers on membership, financial status, summer highlights, and upcoming events and plans for the coming year.

Feel free to bring a side dish or snacks to share, but it is not required.

After a brief general meeting, Bob Hazelton from the Centre County Historical Society will be speaking. Bob Hazelton is a retired Electrical Engineer. He is on the boards of the Centre County Historical and Genealogical Societies and focuses his research on “lost” civilization in the local area. He is also a member and works on projects for “Clear Water Conservancy” and the “Bald Eagle Archaeological Society”.
Bob will be discussing:
- General Philip Benner and the establishment of the iron operation at Rock
- Harvey Mann's axe factory
- an extension of his operation at Boiling Springs, (now Axemann) on the Logan Branch of Spring Creek
- The acquisition of the Benner/Mann lands by Major William F. Reynolds and its later ownership by his nephew, Colonel Fred W. Reynolds
- The sale of the land to the Western Pennsylvania Correctional Institution at Rockview
- The evolution of Fishermen's Paradise

As always, we hope to generate discussion on your ideas about the club, and how to make this the most awesome paddling club around! We have many good ideas already, but are still looking for ways to implement them. As the club officers are volunteers, we can use all the help you can offer in this regard. Therefore, ideas that include suggestions on implementation may be the most beneficial.
				This event is currently scheduled to be held at Videon Central, State College, PA 16801 on February 16, 2012.
